HIGH SCHOOL CERTIFICATE PROGRAM
The High School Certificate Program is a three-year program for intermediate and advanced high school students. Admission is by audition. The program offers a sequential, intensive curriculum that takes students from the tenth through twelfth grades. Individual instruction, musicianship training, repertoire classes, ensemble experiences, and performance come together to provide students with a comprehensive music experience and education. A motivating and dedicated faculty supports the development of each student's unique musical voice. Students receive the High School Certificate upon completion of all class and performance requirements.

Ensemble:
Students playing orchestral instruments are required to play in The Diller-Quaile Orchestra each year. Additionally, certificate students are required to participate in chamber ensembles for two of their three years in the program. Please consult the Ensembles page for more details.
Requirements:
Students perform solo three times each year in Student Concerts and Advanced Recitals.
Students perform twice each year in outreach concerts arranged by Diller-Quaile.
Students are required to complete an annual jury evaluation each June.
Students are required to participate periodically in performance classes and in master classes with faculty and guest artists.
Each student performs a solo senior recital with repertoire chosen according to curriculum guidelines.

Students may apply and audition for admission to the program in the spring of ninth grade. Applications for May auditions must be postmarked by April 30. Applications for September auditions must be postmarked by August 20. All prospective students who wish to enroll in the Certificate Program must audition on their instrument and take a musicianship placement test.
Students should select repertoire that demonstrates their level of musical and technical proficiency. The School will provide an accompanist for singers. All other students who wish to play with accompaniment should bring their own pianist. The decision of the adjudicators is final.

The applicant will be asked to perform:
- Two contrasting pieces or movements. For voice students, one selection must be in English. Instrumentalists will be asked to play two scales and arpeggios in two (wind instruments) or three (piano and string instruments) octaves.
- All applicants will also be asked to sight read at the audition.
- All applicants are required to take a musicianship placement exam the day of their audition.
