Boys Vocal Class $1,250
The Boys Vocal Class focuses on the study and performance of solo and ensemble repertoire written specifically for the unchanged boy's voice, as well as works traditionally performed by boy singers. Class members develop a foundation of vocal technique with an emphasis on posture, breath, tone production, and diction. An emphasis on sight reading and ensemble listening helps students build critical musicianship skills. Members of the class perform in Diller-Quaile concerts throughout the year. Secondary Piano Instruction $1,250
This class provides basic piano skills to singers and instrumentalists whose primary instrument is not the piano. The class begins with the study of the keyboard and the correct physical approach to the instrument. Students study note-reading, learn to play scales and chords with fluency, and master complete pieces. Taking piano as a secondary instrument allows students to cultivate a deeper understanding of the structure of music, as well as develop skills essential to the study and assimilation of all music. The courses listed below are available for class-only enrollment. Additional course descriptions and offerings may be found on the Musicianship Study and Ensembles pages.
