Bio
Elizabeth Acosta is a graduate of the Hartt School with a Bachelor in Opera. While at Hartt she performed with the Hartford Opera Theater , and Numerous Cabaret Acts. Upon returning to her hometown NY she sang numerous operatic roles with the Bronx Opera Company and Henry Street Settlement, and Repertorio Espanol. Her musical career continued as a soloist with the vocal ensembles National Chorale, Alborada Latina, Musica Hispania along with solo recitals promoting Latin American and Spanish Repertoire in the United sates and Latin America.
Ms Acosta had performed on Broadway in The Secret Garden and Cyrano the Musical working with Lin Manuel Miranda in off Broadway performances of In the Heights along with creating roles at The Guggenheim and American Musical Theatre Festival. She has performed regionally with the Guthrie Theater and Papermill Playhouse and The Z American Dream Theater. As a voice Over artist she can be heard in numerous commercials, jingles and recordings for educational videos and children’s songs.
Ms Acosta has been a private voice an piano instructor for 10 years teaching ages 8-58 , her students have performed with Virginia Opera and The Virginia Musical theater She has performed numerous acting roles with the Z American Dream Theater and Duo theater to name a few. Her educational background includes Music teacher for grades Kinder thru 5th grade at PS 7. Early Childhood Teacher at The Bloomigdale School of Music, Thurnauer School of Music, and currently at 4 HeadStart Centers in Brooklyn. She is a certified Musikgarten trained instructor, She is trained in Vocal Pedagogy thru the Berkley Professional Workshop. Liz stared at Diller Quaile 18 years ago and continues to work as an early childhood head instructor along with leading early childhood centers in the summer through Diller Quaile’s Outreach program.
