Early Childhood Program

The Early Childhood Program is designed for children 3 months – 5 years old.

The 2023-2024 Early Childhood calendar is divided into trimesters. Each trimester is 10 (ten) weeks in length.

Yes, you can enroll in any or all three trimesters.

Yes, you can enroll in more than one class, in any trimester.

Yes, you can enroll in as many classes as you like. Each trimester will be distinct depending on enrollment.

In-person classes are generally 45 minutes in length. The Preschool Program is 2 hours in length per day and meets twice per week for the entire 30 week school year. The Young Twos Program is 1.5 hours in length per day and meets twice per week for the entire 30 week school year.

Yes, there is a $20 application fee per trimester. Students enrolled in 30 week full school year programs pay an application fee of $60 at the time of enrollment.

Due to the breadth of offerings in the Early Childhood Program, Diller-Quaile is unable to offer make-up classes. This ensures consistency and quality in each of our classes, allowing the group to grow together over the course of the trimesters.

Instrumental and Vocal Programs

Yes. Individual lesson programs are offered in-person and via distance learning. All classes are held in-person at Diller-Quaile.

Yes, all families must complete an application form for each student each year. This provides an important opportunity to share your scheduling availability and interests for the coming year.

You may apply at any time during the year. However, schedules are confirmed with families over the summer prior to the start of school. After we have received your application, we will contact you and would be happy to discuss your interests and questions at that time.

Yes. Though students generally enroll for a 30-week academic year beginning in September, the School will admit students later in the academic year if an appropriate placement is available.

Department administrators will help each family determine how to move forward. Students who are undecided may be able to interview for more than one instrument.

We recommend that you submit your application early even if you are undecided, indicating your areas of interest on the form. School administrators will work with you to determine the appropriate program for your child.

All students who enroll in instrument or voice study are required to take a Musicianship Class as part of a Comprehensive Program. The study of music theory and development of ear training is a core component of instrument and voice study across all levels of study.

Adult Programs

Yes. Both in-person and live remote programs are available.

Yes, adult students may enroll on a per semester basis (15 weeks) or for shorter groupings of lessons.

Yes, all adult students must complete an application form in full each year.

Adults (age 60 years and over) receive a 15% tuition discount off the cost of individual lessons. To receive the tuition discount and reduced application fee, you must check the box on the application form indicating you are 60 years of age or older.
