About the Institute

The Diller-Quaile Institute furthers the School's mission to develop the innate musicality in each individual, inspiring participation for a lifetime, by promoting knowledge and access to educators, teaching artists, researchers, and the community.

The Institute:

  • Offers Professional Development for musicians, teaching artists, and music educators

  • Offers pre-service and in-service Teacher Development in music for elementary educators and early childhood professionals

  • Conducts Research in musical development, teaching and learning, and community music

  • Produces Recordings and Publications for families, musicians, and educators

  • Offers The Music for All Library, an online music resource for early childhood professionals

Diller-Quaile's Teacher Development Programs have been approved for Continuing Teacher and Leader Education (CTLE) by the New York State Education Department.

Diller-Quaile is accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Community and Precollegiate Arts Schools and is an accredited institutional member of the National Association of Schools of Music.
