EARLY CHILDHOOD DEPARTMENT - art
Community Programs
Elizabeth (Libby) Tonorezos Garnett, joins the teaching team at Diller-Quaile as an Early Childhood Educator on the art faculty. She has taught in both private and public schools throughout New York City and brings a child-centered, exploratory approach to her work. In the art classroom, Libby encourages young students to independently explore visual art, often allowing the children to lead the direction of projects. She is especially passionate about working with neurodivergent children, ensuring they are understood, supported, and never overlooked. Libby believes deeply in seeing the good in every child and in the idea that children have as much to teach adults as adults have to teach them.
In addition to her work in early childhood education, Libby has taught yoga to adults and children for over 20 years. She previously served as the New York Regional Manager for YogaWorks, where she oversaw teaching and management teams of more than 200 people across six studios. Libby taught extensively and traveled across the United States to lead the YogaWorks 200-Hour Teacher Training, and she was also a member of the teaching team for the 300-Hour Yoga Teacher Training in New York City. Along with her husband, Jeff, she loves raising their two children, Garrison and Grace, on the Upper Westside.
