Lauren Seery

EARLY CHILDHOOD DEPARTMENT - MUSIC

Lauren Seery is a double bassist, singer, and music educator based in New York City. She is a graduate of the Manhattan School of Music with a Bachelor of Music in Classical Double Bass Performance. Lauren studied primarily under the tutelage of Timothy Cobb. Lauren is currently pursuing a Master of Music degree in Orchestral Double Bass from the Manhattan School of Music.

 As a freelance double bassist, she has performed with NYC ensembles such as The Brooklyn Chamber Orchestra, The New York International Symphony, and Classical Nomad, playing in venues such as Carnegie Hall and Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center. She has participated in a variety of summer music festivals including the Aspen Music Festival and School and Round Top Festival Institute.

 In addition to performing, Lauren has a diverse career as an educator. For the past three years, she has been on the double bass faculty of Opportunity Music Project, a non-profit organization that provides instruments, music lessons, and ensemble experience to underserved youth in the NY Metro Area. She is a member of the Early Childhood faculty at the Diller-Quaile School of Music, sharing her background in musical theater and classical voice with the next generation of musicians!
