Philip Hough

INSTRUMENTAL AND VOCAL DEPARTMENT - violin

Philip Hough holds a B.F.A. from Cooper Union, a Master’s degree in Composition from Hunter College CUNY, and a Diploma in Violin from Mannes College of Music. He studied violin and Suzuki pedagogy with Louise Behrend, and composition with David Loeb. Mr. Hough joined The Diller-Quaile School of Music violin faculty in 1979, where he is currently Head of the String Department and founding member of the Diller-Quaile String Quartet. Mr. Hough is also on the violin faculty at The School for Strings and the music faculty at Saint David’s School, both in New York.
